Leader

The objectives of this work package are: to evaluate the impact of the Joint Action using appropriate quantitative and qualitative measures; to support the production of the interim and final reports on the Joint Action and to ensure that individual work package deliverables meet an acceptable quality threshold.

Work Package Leader - Maria-Dolors Estrada Sabadell

 MD, PhD (Autonomous University of Barcelona). Specialist in Preventive Medicine and Public Health. Master in Health Care Services Management and Assessment, and Health Care Systems. She is a senior research of AQuAS and coordinator of CPG AQuAS’s group and member of the Scientific committee of Spanish National CPG programme. Other areas of interest are assessment of health technologies and development of patient-reported outcomes measures. She is a member of the Spanish Network of Epidemiology and Public Health (CIBERESP). She has worked in commissioned projects for the Catalan and Spanish Health Ministries and international research projects (lately, DAYSAFE project as an associated partner). She has published several THA reports, papers and GPC about different subjects and using either quality or quantitative methodology.

Mireia Espallargues

Medical Doctor (Autonomous University of Barcelona, 1993), Ph.D. in Medicine and Surgery (Autonomous University of Barcelona, 1998), Postgraduate Diploma in Design and Statistics for Research in Health Sciences (Autonomous University of Barcelona, 1998), Master in Public Health and Biomedical Research Methodology (Autonomous University of Barcelona, 1998), Master in Health Care Services Management and Assessment (Autonomous University of Barcelona and AQuAS, 2000),  Degree of Specialist in Preventive Medicine and Public Health (2003) and Master in Leadership and Management of Science and Innovation (Pompeu Fabra University, University of Barcelona and Autonomous University of Barcelona, 2012).

Currently responsible for the Assessment Area of the Agency for Quality and Assessment of Catalonia (AQuAS). She has been the main researcher of different competitive projects in Spain and WP leader or collaborator researcher in European projects, as well as member of different health services research collaborative networks.

Vicky Serra-Sutton

Sociologist (University of Barcelona, UB), diploma in Health Studies (UB) and PhD (public health and biomedical research methods, Autonomous University of Barcelona) is a senior researcher at the AQuAS. Among her expertise areas are qualitative and quantitative methodology. She is a consulting professor of the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya. In the context of public governmental organizations, she has worked in commissioned projects for the Catalan and Spanish Health Ministries and international research projects. She has published more than 30 technical reports, articles and book chapters. Peer-reviewer of public health journals and member of the CIBERESP and the Spanish Society of Epidemiology.

Gemma Cabré Esteve -

Gemma has a degree in Business Administration (Universitat Pompeu Fabra) and  Master in Economic-Finance Direction. She is encharged of the Finantial and Economic aspects of AQuAS (EU) projects. Among her expertise areas are justification and control grants from EU Funding (CIP, FP7 and H2020). She has got a large experience in Economic Area and an expertise in EU Funding because of a working experience of 10 years in Public Bodies.

Once the evidence reviews were completed, work packages turned their attention to identifying which best practices to test and in which healthcare settings and geographical locations.  More information will become available here as this work progresses.
